An exciting opportunity has arisen for two experienced Bench Joiners or Cabinet Makers to join a specialist joinery manufacturer based at its own workshop in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire.
Our client designs, manufactures and installs bespoke joinery for commercial fit-out projects, with a strong focus on sustainable joinery. Its bench joiners and cabinet makers produce the joinery in house, working from construction issue drawings and cutting lists, before it goes out to site.
This is a workshop-based bench joinery role with no site fitting, for a time-served Bench Joiner or Cabinet Maker with at least 8 to 10 years' joinery experience who takes real pride in the quality of their work. Both positions are available to start immediately.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assembling bespoke joinery and cabinetry components in the workshop for commercial fit-out projects
- Working from construction issue drawings and cutting lists to produce accurate, high-quality joinery
- Checking construction issue drawings and raising any errors or queries for amendment before work starts
- Completing every section of the works orders for each joinery item
- Operating joinery machinery safely and helping to keep the workshop a safe working environment
- Working as part of the bench joinery team and on your own, and supporting less experienced joiners where needed
What We're Looking For
- At least 8 to 10 years' experience as a Bench Joiner, Cabinet Maker or Joiner, ideally in commercial fit-out, shopfitting or high-end joinery
- City and Guilds in Joinery or Wood Machining, or an equivalent qualification
- Proven experience on joinery machinery
- Confident reading construction issue drawings and cutting lists
- Organised, accurate and detail-focused, and able to work well under pressure
- Good spoken and written English and clear communication with the rest of the team
- Experience of leading or supervising other joiners would be an advantage
- Able to travel to Letchworth Garden City, ideally within around an hour of the workshop
What's On Offer
- £18 to £22 per hour, depending on experience, and more may be available for the right candidate
- 40 hours per week, workshop based, with overtime available as and when required
- Full-time, permanent position
