An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cabinet Maker, Cabinetmaker or Bench Joiner to take a senior bench role with an established, privately owned furniture manufacturer based in Ongar, Essex.
Our client is a friendly, family-run business that designs and builds bespoke, high-end furniture and mirrors for private clients and interior designers, working across contemporary and traditional luxury furniture styles. This is a senior bench position for a skilled Cabinet Maker or Bench Joiner who is confident working to CAD drawings or rendered sketches, both independently and alongside other cabinet makers and joiners, on bespoke, high-end furniture and cabinetry.
What you'll be doing
- Building bespoke, high-end furniture and mirrors to an exceptional standard, working from detailed drawings in paper and/or digital formats
- Fitting modern hardware including drawer runners, hinges and architectural ironmongery
- Cabinet jointing and assembly using up-to-date fixing methods and power tool jointers
- Operating a range of wood machinery to a safe, qualified standard
- Working confidently with hand tools, power tools and other workshop machinery
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker, Cabinetmaker, Bench Joiner or Furniture Maker, working on bespoke, fine or high-end luxury furniture and cabinetry
- Experience in high-end joinery and cabinet making
- Confident reading and working from technical CAD drawings or rendered sketches
- Recognised wood machining qualifications, or clearly evidenced experience operating wood machinery safely
- High personal standards of craftsmanship, planning, organisation and attention to detail
- A methodical, organised approach with the ability to problem-solve and work to deadlines while maintaining quality
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small workshop team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills?
