Our client is a well-established furniture and upholstery restoration company with an excellent reputation for high-quality, customer-facing furniture repair and restoration work across the east of Scotland. They are now looking for a Furniture Repair Technician or Upholsterer based around Dundee to cover the Dundee, Angus and Perthshire patch.
Area covered: Dundee, Broughty Ferry, Arbroath, Forfar, Perth and St Andrews. You will work from home, attending pre-booked appointments in customers' own homes to repair and restore upholstered furniture.
What you'll be doing
- Visit customers in their own homes across Dundee, Angus and Perthshire to inspect furniture and upholstery and diagnose the repair or restoration work needed
- Carry out repairs to upholstered furniture to a high standard, using the tools, materials and restoration kits provided
- Produce clear, accurate written reports for both the business and the customer following each visit
- Advise customers on ongoing product care and maintenance
- Represent the business professionally and deliver a consistently excellent standard of customer service
What we're looking for
- Significant hands-on experience in domestic upholstery, furniture repair, or furniture production and restoration techniques
- Strong working knowledge of modern furniture materials and repair methods
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, including clear customer-facing reports
- Well organised, proactive and methodical, comfortable working independently
- Full UK driving licence and based within reach of Dundee
What's on offer
- £30,000 to £36,000 depending on experience (negotiable above this for the right candidate)
- Full-time, permanent position covering Dundee, Angus and Perthshire
- Tools, materials and restoration kits supplied, including leather and wood restoration
