Our client is a well-established furniture and upholstery restoration company covering the Aberdeen and Dundee area, with an excellent reputation for high-quality, customer-facing furniture repair and restoration work.
They are looking for an experienced Furniture Technician, Upholsterer, Furniture Restorer or Upholstery Specialist to join the team, carrying out furniture repair and restoration work in customers' own homes. Area covered: Aberdeen, Dundee, Stonehaven, Montrose, Arbroath and Perth.
What you'll be doing
- Visit customers in their own homes across Aberdeen and Dundee to inspect furniture and upholstery, diagnosing the repair or restoration work needed
- Carry out repairs to upholstered furniture to a high standard, using the tools, materials and restoration kits provided
- Produce clear, accurate written reports for both the business and the customer following each visit
- Advise customers on ongoing product care and maintenance
- Represent the business professionally and deliver a consistently excellent standard of customer service
What we're looking for
- Significant hands-on experience in domestic upholstery, furniture repair, or furniture production and restoration techniques
- Strong working knowledge of modern furniture materials and repair methods
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, including clear customer-facing reports
- Well organised, proactive and methodical approach to your work
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider team
- Full UK driving licence, given the field-based nature of the role
What's on offer
- £30,000 to £36,000 depending on experience (negotiable above this for the right candidate)
- Full-time, permanent position covering the Aberdeen and Dundee area
- Tools, materials and restoration kits supplied, including leather and wood restoration
