Live Vacancy
Permanent · Full Time · Field Based · £30,368 to £34,528 plus double-time weekends, or approx. £45,000 self-employed package
We are recruiting on behalf of a long-established, nationwide furniture restoration business operating across both the domestic and commercial furniture restoration sectors. This is a field-based Furniture Technician role covering Reading, where you will be the face of the business in customers' homes, carrying out high-quality upholstery repairs, furniture restoration and clear inspection and liability reporting, while delivering excellent customer service.
Thames Valley commuter country defines this Berkshire and north Hampshire round, centred on Reading and running out to Wokingham, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Newbury and Basingstoke. The M4 is the main corridor, with the A33, A329(M), A404(M), A34 and M3 filling in the gaps. Many customers live on large modern estates and in executive homes, alongside Victorian terraces in central Reading and village properties in West Berkshire. Furniture tends to be well used family pieces such as sectional sofas and recliners. A local furniture repairer or upholsterer would benefit from a working week spent close to home rather than on the motorway.
Area covered: Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell, Newbury, Basingstoke and Maidenhead. Work is organised by postcode area, one area per day, so you are working close to home around Reading (RG1 1AF) rather than driving across the country.
This role is ideal for an experienced Upholsterer, Furniture Repair Technician, Furniture Technician, Service Technician, Trimmer, Furniture Restorer, Sofa Repair Technician or Mobile Furniture Technician, or anyone who has carried out in-home repairs and inspections on sofas, chairs, beds, mattresses or cabinetry. It is a genuine move into a stable, well-supported position with proper training, structure and progression.
If you are an Upholsterer, Furniture Technician, Furniture Restoration Technician, Furniture Repair Technician or Service Technician living around Reading and looking for a stable, well-paid, field-based role with genuine training and progression, we would love to hear from you.
