A long-established, family-run manufacturer of bespoke curtains, drapery and soft furnishings for luxury hotels and high-end residential properties worldwide is looking for an Installation Manager (Site Operations Manager) based out of its London office. This role leads the curtain fitting teams and owns the site survey and measuring process across prestigious hotel projects.
This is a specialist role for someone from within the curtains, drapery and soft furnishings industry. You might be a senior curtain fitter or installer ready to lead, or an existing installation or site manager in soft furnishings or window treatments. You will be the technical authority on curtain measuring, making and installation, guiding fitters on site and advising the sewing room on how items need to be made.
What you'll be doing
- Managing and scheduling the curtain fitting teams across London and hotel sites, holding fitters accountable for quality and timekeeping
- Leading site surveys and measuring at luxury hotel projects, personally or through your team, with total accuracy
- Interpreting architectural drawings and site conditions to set correct measurements and specifications for curtains, blinds, tracks and poles
- Acting as the technical bridge between site and the sewing room, translating survey data into clear manufacturing instructions
- Ensuring fabrics, finishes and specifications are carried through correctly from survey to workroom to installation
- Coordinating installation schedules with hotel clients to minimise disruption, and resolving on-site issues that affect fit or timelines
- Supporting the training and development of fitters and maintaining accurate survey and site records
What you'll need
- Proven hands-on experience in curtains, drapery or soft furnishings, with site survey and measuring experience essential
- Strong technical knowledge of curtain making, fitting and installation, including tracks, poles and window treatments
- Experience leading or managing a team of fitters
- Experience on hospitality or high-end residential projects strongly preferred; five-star hotel fit-out experience is ideal
- Confident, professional manner with luxury hotel clients on site
- Well organised across multiple sites, with excellent attention to detail on measurements and specifications
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites; comfortable with Excel and technology
What's on offer
- Salary circa £55,000, negotiable for the right industry background
- A senior, trusted position in a family business with over a century of combined soft furnishings expertise
- Prestigious luxury hotel and high-end residential projects, in the UK and globally
