A luxury interior design, home staging and bespoke furniture company in Twickenham, West London is looking for a Stock Controller (FF&E Quality Controller) to take ownership of stock control, goods-in inspection and inventory management across its warehouse operation. This is stock control with a difference: every item you handle is top-of-the-range furniture, bespoke FF&E or a luxury accessory on its way to a high-end show home or staging installation.
A general warehouse or FMCG stock background alone will not be enough. The right person has an interest in furniture and interiors, understands fittings and installations, and takes real pride in precision, from database accuracy to spotting a scratch in a wood finish.
What you'll be doing
- Stock control and inventory management through a digital asset management system: scanning, logging, tracking and reconciling stock movements in real time for 100% database accuracy
- Goods-in quality inspection of brand-new staging stock, bespoke furniture and luxury accessories, documenting transit damage, manufacturing flaws and finish inconsistencies
- Returns and claims processing: logging non-conformances and coordinating repairs, replacements or returns with procurement and designers
- Loading and unloading vans, wrapping, strapping and stowing items securely to eliminate transit damage
- Driving company 3.5t Luton vans between sites, client properties and suppliers when required
- Supporting installations, property collections and container offloads across a four-warehouse operation
- Maintaining a pristine, safe and well-organised warehouse with strict health and safety compliance
What you'll need
- Experience in stock control, inventory management, quality assurance or furniture/interiors logistics
- An interest in furniture, FF&E, interiors, fittings or installations; you must care about the product, not just the process
- Exceptional attention to detail on high-end fabrics, wood finishes, metalwork and delicate items
- Full clean UK driving licence, confident driving 3.5t Luton or box vans
- Comfortable with inventory software, tablets and handheld barcode scanners
- Physically fit for sustained manual handling, container offloads and installation days
- Honesty, accountability and clear communication with warehouse teams, designers and directors
What's on offer
- £30,000 starting salary with a defined path to £36,000 within 18 months
- 25 days holiday plus 5 paid sick days
- Free parking
- Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm, no weekends
- A prestigious, trusted role working alongside warehouse managers, with your input instantly recognised
