A well-established upholstery business with its own workshop and showroom in Epping, Essex (CM16) is looking for an experienced Upholsterer to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis. The business produces bespoke domestic furniture and handles commercial upholstery projects, so the work is varied and consistently high quality.
This is a full bench role: you will upholster and reupholster from the frame, stitch and machine sew, and create new pieces as well as restoring existing ones. Both domestic and commercial upholstery experience is required.
What you'll be doing
- Upholstering and reupholstering sofas, chairs, headboards and bespoke pieces from the frame
- Stitching, cutting and machine sewing covers and cushions
- Creating new bespoke items to customer specification alongside restoration and reupholstery work
- Commercial upholstery projects for trade and hospitality customers
- Maintaining a high standard of finish and presenting completed work in the showroom
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as an Upholsterer covering both domestic and commercial furniture
- Confident working from the frame up, including springing, padding, stitching and finishing
- Cutting and machine sewing skills
- Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Reliable, self-motivated and comfortable working in a small workshop team
- Based within reach of Epping, Essex (CM16)

- £35,360 to £43,680 per year depending on experience (£17 to £21 per hour)
